Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce Hosts
Business Expo 2002 - "A Closer Look"

Ogden, UT- It's the Top of Utah's biggest networking event of the year. Don't miss the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2002 to be held at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center September 10 and 11.

With two days of events and activities, the Business Expo provides the perfect environment to visit with over 65 different business leaders, and explore new products and services to help your business grow.

The Expo kicks off September 10 at 5 p.m. with one of the most anticipated Business-After-Hours events of the year. As part of the night's festivities participants brace themselves for the Balloon Drop at the Top at 7 p.m. Imagine dozens of business people eyeing a giant overhead net bulging with balloons about to descend upon the crowd. With spiked high heel in hand they are ready to push around their business peers -- literally! It's all in an effort to grab one of the balloons containing a free prize. "It's great fun to watch business people who usually maintain their composure, diving across the room or sneaking off with a handful of balloons," said event coordinator Cassandra Moyers.

The Business-After-Hours also provides a unique opportunity to get a sneak peak at the exhibitor booths during the exclusive first day of the Expo.

The event continues the following day, September 11, beginning at 10 a.m. with activities continuing until 5 p.m. Over 65 different exhibitors will highlight their products and services to the community and other business owners. Local caterers and restaurants have plenty of free food on hand to sample while other booths feature almost every different kind of business imaginable. If you own your own business, or are considering going into business for yourself, the Expo will expose you to the key organizations that can truly make doing business that much easier. So whether you plan to host a booth or just want to visit the other businesses that are presenting, you are bound to find the contacts and information you are seeking.

So what businesses can you find at the Expo? 72% are businesses located within the Ogden Metro area with the rest coming from the surrounding areas. The entire ballroom at the conference center will literally be overflowing into the hallways with booths staffed by area businesses. "We've designed a new floor plan that should generate more foot traffic to all of the vendors and make it easier to find what services you are looking for," said Moyers. "Since the Expo is in the fall it's a great time to make contacts with those businesses that are planning their budgets for the following year. A lot of thought has gone into the event to create the best possible networking environment possible."

This year's major sponsors include; Key bank, the Ogden Eccles Conference Center, Reagan Outdoor Advertising, and the Standard-Examiner. The Chamber is especially grateful for these sponsors without whom the Expo would not be possible. The Chamber also thanks all of the vendors and businesses participating in the Expo.

Admission for the Business After Hours on September 10 is $5.00. Complimentary passes for the following day, September 11, are available at the door. Both spaces for the Chamber's Business Expo are still available. Contact the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce at 621-8300 or email chamber@echamber.cc for more information.
